is it reallty worth it to get the elite or should i just get the xbox thats the next best?Do i need an elite

you dont need an elite but if you have the money you might as well buy it.

If you're buying your first console or even just a new one i would suggest the Elite over the pro.  You get the 120gb hdd (nice plus) and hdmi as well as the cable to boot.  499 (pro) and 549 (elite) so i think it's a pretty good deal for an extra $50.

You have a television capable of 720P (or higher), or plan to buy one in the foreseeable future (Especially if you plan to get the HD-DVD add on)
2. Plan on storing alot of music , and or downloading alot from XBox live.Otherwise you can save yourself $80 and get the premium.  It's not rocket science.
