Ok I'm doing offline story mode. I'm level 15 with Ethan and on chapter 4. the only weapon I been using was a saber with the same photon art u get with it in the beginning. Its about level 21 but should I get another weapon like double sabers because this on is getting weak and I dont know much about the weapons in this game. Also what is the best weapon overall

Hit all the planets you can and compare weapons from teh weapon shop, not alls ell the same and there are quite a few options. You just have to take the time and look up all the stats before deciding to buy one. And a tip, start saving up tons of meseta. Buy what you need and never in excess. After you finish chapter 11, the best weapons and armor upgrades becomes available. And trust me, you will be happy to have the best weapon at that point. But the problem is it costs 500k.
