they aint hating! Halo is is great game, awsome shooter... but some people make to much of a bigdeal about it. Halo 3 looks really overrated hope the final game is nothing lyk the beta(Shiny Halo2)
Personally, I LOVE halo 1. But I simply cannot play halo 2. I find it's multi-player monotonous, I think they botched Capture the Flag to be honest. Example: Why can't You freakin'drive a warthog WITH the flag? is it impossible for him to store it someplace while he drives?For goodness sakes why not just clamp it between the hog's tusks :P

[/QUOTE]It may be there for a reason. But it is a very poor game mechanic IMO. I have tried sticking with my team mates, doing everything in my power to keep the flag. But 95% it ends in failure. And another 5 minute walk back to the other base, if there aren't enough vehicles. :( It's a large step backwards from the days of Halo 1 PC. That game actually fostered teamwork, without forcing it upon the player.
its because Halo is such a gd game which easily rivals everything else out there and is exclusive to consloes until it eventually comes out on PC. PC users are used to this being the other way around. Playstation fanboys hate it because its destroying their brand.
Because the game really isn't as revolutionary as everyone claims it to be. The only thing they added to the FPS mix was a superb vehicle driving experience. Duel wielding was done with GoldenEye, large enivorments were done with Unreal, and the first Half Life still has better enemy AI (the marines). It's fairly standard. The things that make Halo so fancy are it's spectacular settings, interesting story, great musical score, and a pretty great FPS engine. Plus, it's fun.

i think thats just bad luck on your behalf man. i know what your talking about caus it's happened to me and just about everyone els who has ever played a game of CTF halo 2 on live, but having the flag carrier be able to drive is very broken caus it makes it way to easy. i played a game of halo 3 CTF today and 4 of my team mates killed the 5 guys coming to get my teams flag, while me and another team mate hopped on a mongoose and i killed the guy guarding the enemy teams flag. after that i grabbed the flag hopped on the back of the mongoose and he drove me back to my base for a score and this took no longer than 2-5 mins. team work some ppl are just good at it and others aren't go figure.

Its normal. People want to cause problems and be the ''oddball'' to stand out. I for one dont think they are the ''best'' games, but I had Halo1 before the Xbox even came out. I drove 4 hours to get Halo2 at its midnight launch...I have beat both coop campaigns and have played lots of splitscreen deathmatch...''dont like online at all''...Great games that have set HIGH STANDARDS for all FPS's on console and PC.
why does everyone say ''oh bungie are such liars, they didn't come up w/ duel wielding'' and no your right they didn't, and they never claimed to. look at marathon, it was a bungie FPS on the mac in the early 90's and it had duel wielding, so it's not like when they did it in halo 2 it was anything new! it was a big deal in halo 2 caus you couldn't (could not) do it in halo 1, and everybody wished you could, so they added it.

I don't hate Halo, but I don't care for it either. That's what it really boils down to for me. I don't care.

i know that there are alot of people that just praise it to death. now i dont think its the greatest thing since sliced bread but lets be real, no other shooter has had the impact on FPS than halo has. yes gears is a great game but its not as good as halo was when it first came out. half life, unreal, and others are good games two but what other game has the hype that halo 3 has besides GTA IV???? none, thats because after all the hype (and over hype) its still a great game
