Hoping the premium falls to $300 or lower, any word/anyone predict a pricedrop?Any hope for a price drop by holiday sea ...
Very likely since 360's with a 65-nm Xenon chip and 65-nm Xenos GPU will be released this fall or holiday season. It will be cheaper for Microsoft to make the updated 360's (the new chips are more efficient AND cheaper) and therefore they will want to drop the price to get rid of older models on the shelves. Any hope for a price drop by holiday sea ...
just my best guess and not insider anything. i think in november the price will drop. i think this is why halo3 was moved up to september. mgs usually delays games. this is the first time i've noticed them move a game up. they want a couple of months for halo hype to sell 360s at the higher price, then anounce a price cut just in time for christmas shopping season to crush the competition. they have seen how nintendo is selling at it's relative price point. nintendo is also still selling out. that means nintendo wont make a price cut to compete. they will be selling 100% of their units without a price cut, so a cut for them would just be a loss. but a price cut could help ms. it would increase the install base and garner many more game licens and royalty fees. selling at the same price or less tan the wii would make it sell like the wii. with sony's losses i'm not sure they could afford a large price cut. i think a $100 cut could allow ms to become as dominate as the ps2 was. the manufacturing costs should have also dropped enough so that ms should still be selling consoles at a profit.
i dont see a price drop anytime soon. just my guess though.
i dont see a price drop anytime soon. just my guess though.
mainly because of what rdo said. i thought about some of the stuff he/she said. i just couldn't put my thoughts into a nice little paragraph like he/she did. thanks.
Sweet predictions... Till then my GoW copy collects dust...
