elite or not??

I want a 360 (at least i think i do) Should i wait for the elite or get one now with the gears of war package? what will the differences be with the elite and the normal? How much is the elite? and whats your opinion? cheerselite or not??
The Elite's price is going up to say 400 quid. It might well be worth it if you have that kind of money, it comes with HD-Drive which is over 100 pound, and a huge hard-drive! Up to 100 Gig!elite or not??
Just read this article LINKAtm im leaning toward a normal 360... i have a 27' samsung LCD so the difference in picture should be minimum. And considering i can get the normal for a little cheaper with a copy of gears of war, thats what im opting for... also HD space isnt a really big deal because i have my pc :P so i will most likely just use it for save files. But i am slightly intrested in HD-DVD... still open to comments/opinions. Oh and one more question. how much is online play?
XBL is 50 bucks per year. As for they systems, you may as well just get the elite. Even if you couldn't take advantage of HDMI or the extra 100gig hdd, why not just get them if they're offered? It's only 80 bucks extra, and it would cost much more than that to turn a premium into an elite. Finally, its black, and that would be worth like 40 bucks to me by itself.
Yeah you raise some good points. When is the elite set for release in AU. or anywhere for that matter?
Alright!! Ive decided on the Elite version. Scheduled for a September AU release for around $7-800 AU. Im probably gonna pre order next week and pay it off so i can pick it up on release. The guy at EB also said they wont be making heaps of them so its safer to pre order.Cheers guys! Now i need to catch up on some serious gaming :P
